I was born different. But that doesn’t stop me from living my life. And I’m happy。

I love soccer so much and I don’t play as well as others, of course. But you know, in the World Cup, there is so much anticipation and excitement that stirs up in all of us and everybody cheers for this success of their own team. And you know in all games there is losing and winning. People who moan over, you know, their team not winning and then people who get so excited when they win. Everybody loves to win but we shall not linger on the difference between winning and losing. At the World Cup, most of the fans around the world will experience the loss of their team. But is losing failing?

At age 8, I wanted to end my life. I told my mom I wanted to commit suicide. And then, age 10, I actually tried. I felt like I had no hope to live. I felt like I was so different to everybody else, and there was definitely no future or hope for me. If I gave up, thinking that that was the end, I would have missed out on so much more. Life is life. There are lots of successes but also lots of failures and it repeats itself again and again. Should we really despair every time we go through, you know a failure?

If I never try, I’ll never achieve anything. If I fall down, what do I do? I am gonna try again and again because the moment I give up is the moment that I’ll fail. It is so important that we don’t despair with the results that we sometimes don’t anticipate whether it’s in the soccer game or life. So embrace the path your team has taken and believe that they will try again with resilience. Then you will feel the happiness in life again to be able to enjoy the World Cup as a true festival as it is, a celebration. Failure is not important. How you overcome it is。

Truth be told, I never graduated from college. ②使听众感到震惊。例如要做一场关于“生活方式与疾病”的演讲,开篇就可以给出一组极具冲击力的数据,让听众看到生活方式不健康将会产生多么可怕的后果,这样的震惊能够使听众快速调整状态,投入到听演讲中去。

③引起听众的好奇心。演讲者可以在开篇指出一种特别的现象,听众出于好奇就会认真听演讲,想知道演讲者如何分析或解释。

④向观众提问。演讲者可以在开篇提出一个问题,这样可以引发听众的思考,也会引导他们去听演讲者如何解答问题。此外,也可以在开篇引用一段名言,或是讲述一个故事等,这些基本的开篇方式被无数的演讲证明是实用而且有效的。

第三步:观点明确,支撑有效

毫无疑问,在演讲中,主体段的信息量最大,写作量也最大。如何清晰地阐释演讲者的观点或演讲要点,如何用相关事实有效地支撑演讲者的各个论点或要点,是演讲稿主体段写作时应该把握的关键。

这里有三个手段可以借鉴:

①举例子 用内容具象化,最好是自己亲历的故事,之前大火的《奇葩说》至少告诉我们一个事,自己亲身经历的故事最有说服力和带动性。

②引用 上段乔布斯在演讲中引用了一些名言警句来阐述自己的观点。比如在讲到死亡时,他引用了一句格言:“If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.”这句话表明了他对于生命和死亡的看法,使听众印象深刻。

Do you think it's possible to control someone's attention? Even more than that, what about predicting human behavior? I think those are interesting ideas, if you could. I mean, for me, that would be the perfect superpower, actually kind of an evil way of approaching it. But for myself, in the past, I've spent the last 20 years studying human behavior from a rather unorthodox way: picking pockets. When we think of misdirection, we think of something as looking off to the side, when actually it's often the things that are right in front of us that are the hardest things to see, the things that you look at every day that you're blinded to.

For example, how many of you still have your cell phones on you right now? Great. Double-check. Make sure you still have them on you. I was doing some shopping beforehand. Now you've looked at them probably a few times today, but I'm going to ask you a question about them. Without looking at your cell phone directly yet, can you remember the icon in the bottom right corner? Bring them out, check, and see how accurate you were. How'd you do? Show of hands. Did we get it?

Now that you're done looking at those, close them down, because every phone has something in common. No matter how you organize the icons, you still have a clock on the front. So, without looking at your phone, what time was it? You just looked at your clock, right? It's an interesting idea. Now, I'll ask you to take that a step further with a game of trust. Close your eyes. I realize I'm asking you to do that while you just heard there's a pickpocket in the room, but close your eyes.

Now, you've been watching me for about 30 seconds. With your eyes closed, what am I wearing? Make your best guess. What color is my shirt? What color is my tie? Now open your eyes. By a show of hands, were you right?

It's interesting, isn't it? Some of us are a little bit more perceptive than others. It seems that way. But I have a different theory about that, that model of attention. They have fancy models of attention, Posner's trinity model of attention. For me, I like to think of it very simple, like a surveillance system. It's kind of like you have all these fancy sensors, and inside your brain is a little security guard. For me, I like to call him Frank. So Frank is sitting at a desk. He's got all sorts of cool information in front of him, high-tech equipment, he's got cameras, he's got a little phone that he can pick up, listen to the ears, all these senses, all these perceptions. But attention is what steers your perceptions, is what controls your reality. It's the gateway to the mind. If you don't attend to something, you can't be aware of it. But ironically, you can attend to something without being aware of it. That's why there's the cocktail effect: When you're in a party, you're having conversations with someone, and yet you can recognize your name and you didn't even realize you were listening to that.

Now, for my job, I have to play with techniques to exploit this, to play with your attention as a limited resource. So if I could control how you spend your attention, if I could maybe steal your attention through a distraction. Now, instead of doing it like misdirection and throwing it off to the side, instead, what I choose to focus on is Frank, to be able to play with the Frank inside your head, your little security guard, and get you, instead of focusing on your external senses, just to go internal for a second. So if I ask you to access a memory, like, what is that? What just happened? Do you have a wallet? Do you have an American Express in your wallet? And when I do that, your Frank turns around. He accesses the file. He has to rewind the tape. And what's interesting is, he can't rewind the tape at the same time that he's trying to process new data.

Now, I mean, this sounds like a good theory, but I could talk for a long time and tell you lots of things, and they may be true, a portion of them, but I think it's better if I tried to show that to you here live. So if I come down, I'm going to do a little bit of shopping. Just hold still where you are.

It is well known that the examination system we are using now may be a good way to test your memory, but it can tell you nothing about a student's ability.

As she was driving back in the heavy rain, the lightning struck her building. And she saw the whole building collapsing in front of her in the storm.

You have probably also experienced how one decision potentially leads to adramatic and different result. So is it accidental, or inevitable? Does destiny exist? If so, how is it formed? Can it be changed? How do we change it?

My dad published a book titled Enlightenment in 20xx. It’s a book about Buddhism and its wisdom that may help you in life. I say “A life-changing book” here because first of all, it is what the Chinese characters on the cover mean; secondly it is my own father’s book and of course I want to sell it; but thirdly, it indeed is “Alife-changing book.”

Ever since he published book, he has wanted me to translate his book when I grow more proficient in English. I doubt that I have the ability to translate his book yet, but I’d like to take this opportunity to share some bits and parts of his insights on Buddhism; especially those on Zen Buddhism that have helped me in my life. This speech will partially be a rough translation of the first chapter of his book, as he wishes, and partially my personal experience with Zen.

Since the day we’re born, we’ve stepped into a huge maze with only one exit. The exit leads to the tranquil middle path that Buddhism is looking for. And only by finding the right road can we exit the maze that is full of suffering. Different thing shappen to different people in our lives, but you should know that every hardship or impasse you face comes from the seeds of your past ignorance and presumptuous acts. There’s nothing we could do with things that already happened, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop searching for the way out. In fact, according to Buddhist teaching, if we wake up from the ignorance, we can definitely leave the maze.

There is a kind of dandelion in Canada that cangrow out of the ground again even if it’s been pulled out by its roots. Some specialists latter found out that this kind of dandelion has roots that are eight meters down into the earth, and at the end of the roots, there’s a seed. Even if the roots are taken out, the dandelion can grow out again because of its seed.

If we should ever accomplish anything in life, let us not forget that we must we would learn our lessons in school, we must be diligent and not give up whenever we come to anything shall find many of our lessons very hard, but let us consider that the harder they are the better they will do to us if we will persevere and learn them there are some among us who are ready to give up when they come to a hard example in mathematics, and say, "I can't do this."

They never will if they feel 't never did anything worth while; but I'll try accomplish us remember that we shall meet with difficulties all through life.

They are in the pathway of we will only try and keep trying, we shall be sure to conquer and overcome every difficulty we meet we have a hard lesson today, let us strive to learn it well and then we shall be prepared for a harder one if we learn to master hard lessons in school, it will prepare us to overcome the hard things that we shall meet in life, when our school days are over.

I"ll tell you an experience of myself happened last week. last thursday our school was tackling something about woking fou study. i wanted to have a try even though i knew the salary was so low and i had little chance,because the students who had the certificate were always thought to have priority to get the job. fortunately i was called at noon and a teacher said to me that she wanted me to work for her and asked if i could change my mind.

At that moment i was so excited that immediately i accepted her idea. but later on,she found me that i"m not a student,so i had little chance and suggest me to get one. then an idea occurred to me that i could call my father and ask him to send me the letter. at the same time i was told that i was admitted to the job and don"t need the certificate. that time i forgot to remind my father,until the next day he called me that he had posted it and it would arrive in just one day.

At that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before,the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents,sometimes they"ll be angry with us, and sometimes we can"t quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child.

They are ready to offer everything to us when we are in bad situation. we used to sharing sorrow with them,but do not forget to share our happiness with them, perhaps they will be much happier than we are. so from now on, let"s care more about our parents and do not leave pity to them. that"s what i want to tell you today. thank you!

classifying rubbish , improving environment good morning, respectable judges, teachers. today, standing here makes me feel really honored and e_cited. the title of my speech is classifying rubbish , improving environment.

personally, rubbish has been a big headache in beijing. as the year __ is coming ,every citizen has realized green beijing and green olympics will bring the far-reaching impact on beijing and even all china . the scense of rubbish nearly everywhere has given all of us a really bad impression, and i'm sure none of us wish to show off the bad side of beijing to athletes and journalists all over the world, for it would blemish the city's and even china's image and leave a bad reputation. so we really have to work hard on green olympics.

now, we are middle school students. we must improve the sense of protecting the environment and make a contribution to green olympics .

in our life, a lot of rubbish , such as waste paper, plastic bottles ,batteries and so on , is produced every day . after we learnt the passage make our environment more beautiful , we found a lot of rubbish thrown into dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discussion. so we thought it would be better if we could classify rubbish . we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much . we became volunteers to classify rubbish . firstly we got three big bo_es and put them in a corner of our classroom . one is for waste paper , one for plastics and coke cans and the other is for batteries . with teacher's help ,soon all the students took part in the activity of classifying rubbish a month , we collected three bo_es of paper , a bo_ of batteries and a bo_ of plastics and coke cans sold them for 28 yuan and bought some young trees with the money . we planted the trees around our school . we were all spoken highly of by our school principals. now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment .

the world trusts beijing ing still has a lot to do to reach the level the world e_pects, but we have the confidence to make beijing a green city. great changes are taking place, and not far in the future, beijing will be the focus of all worlds' attention. we'll grasp the opportunity and do our best to make the sky bluer, water greener and air fresher by the year __.
